EVENT MANAGEMENT INTERN
We're seeking an Audience Services Manager for the run of our upcoming production of ALMOST, MAINE at The Gym at Judson on Washington Square South.
The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, outgoing and self-motivated with excellent communication skills. The ability to provide outstanding hospitality is a must. Prior bartending experience is not required; some experience in the food-service industry is preferred. The position offers the chance to gain professional experience and knowledge of theater front-of-house procedures.
Primary responsibilities include set-up & breakdown of the concessions at each performance, customer service, tracking sales & inventory, assisting with re-ordering inventory and supplies, assisting with and managing events and parties as-needed and providing accurate sales and inventory reports at the end of each night. For most performances, the Audience Services Manager will be required to arrive at the theater an 90 minutes before the performance begins and may leave after intermission, after sufficient check-out and clean up (for an approximate total commitment of 3 hours per performance). The Audience Services manager will be expected to assist with any pre- or post- show events as-needed.
Applicants must be available to begin training immediately and be available to work most performances from January 21 - February 23, 2014. We will also consider multiple candidates to share this role. There may be 1-2 week extension of this production, so flexibility to continue in the role into the extension would be ideal. Opportunity to stay in this role for Transport Group’s following production of I REMEMBER MAMA (March-April, 2014), also at The Gym at Judson, is possible for the right person.
Performance schedule is as follows:
January 21st - February 23rd
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday at 7:00 PM (time at theatre 5:30-8:30pm)
Friday, Saturday at 8:00 PM (time at theatre 6:30-9:30pm)
Sunday at 3:00 PM (time at theatre 1:30-4:30pm)
Saturday matinees on Feb. 8th, 15th, and 22nd at 2pm (time at theatre 12:30-3:30pm)
TOTAL = 33 performances
Compensation for the entire 5-week schedule is $990.00 and will be paid in weekly installments throughout the run. If the position is shared among multiple candidates the compensation is $30 per performance. The Audience Services Manager also has the opportunity to earn cash tips.
